Inactive ingredients include starch, sucrose, calcium sulfate, gelatin, stearic acid and talc. The normal Cytomel dose is determined on a case-by-case basis and after careful observation of patient's response and laboratory findings. The starting dose depends mainly on the indication for use. Cytomel should be stored at normal room temperature between 15C and 30C (59 and 86F).

Mechanism of action: Cytomel is reported to be one of the most potent forms of thyroid hormone with a rapid onset of action. As a substitute for and/or supplement to the natural thyroid hormones, Cytomel works by increasing the basal metabolic rate (BMR).
